Really Good Books You Should Read

Maybe it's just me, but whenever someone asks me if I've read anything good lately I suffer a complete mind blank. I end up stammering something about hearing that Jane Austen is a pretty good writer, or hey, that Da Vinci Code is pretty popular! Darn my short-term memory.

At any rate, as people ask me for recommendations fairly frequently, I like to keep a few titles in mind. So I started keeping a list a few years ago, divided it into a few choice categories, and updated it every so often. Now that it's online, I'll be updating it more frequently as I read things that I definitely consider to be "Really Good Books."

What constitutes a really good book to me? I mostly look for books with interesting, memorable characters and complex, realistic relationships. (What can I say? I'm a chick!) If a book is also charming, romantic and/or funny, even better. And any book that I find myself wanting to read again is a definite keeper in my book.

Enjoy the list!
